Album Press Release

November 2000 sees the release of a brand new album from Sheena Easton, a collection of 18 carat dancefloor disco monsters.

Other nuggets on the forthcoming album include "Best Of My Love", "Never Can Say Goodbye", "Don't Leave Me This Way" and "Love Is In Control" as well as two new tracks "Get Here To Me" and "You Never Gave Me The Chance".

Born just outside Glasgow, Sheena broke through in the UK at the age of 20 with "9 to 5" following her appearance in a BBC documentary entitled "The Big Time". The single reached No 3 in the UK and after being renamed "Morning Train" went on to sell over a million copies in the US.

This was the beginning of a pop career that would see Sheena become one of the most successful British singers of all time.

She contributed the theme song for the James Bond movie For Your Eyes Only. In the eighties she had a very successful working relationship with Prince, which spawned the worldwide hits "U Got The Look" (US #2, UK #11), "Sugar Walls" (#US 9) and "The Arms Of Orion" (UK No 12), a duet with Prince which Sheena wrote for the hugely successful Batman film soundtrack. Her list of collaborators is endless and includes Kenny Rogers, LA & Babyface, Nile Rodgers, Jellybean etc. Not only has Sheena had an enviable music career but she has also had time to fit in a list of prestigious acting credits: starring in Miami Vice as Don Johnson's wife and on Broadway in Grease and Man of La Mancha.

The BBC production team, whose credits include recent documentaries on Spandau Ballet, Dexy's, Madness and Duran Duran) are currently filming a documentary on Sheena which will be broadcast in early December.

Sheena will arrive in the UK mid-November for a brief promo visit and will perform at London's GAY night at the Astoria on 18th November.
